Hi, baby boy! We had our appointment yesterday and it went well. Dr. Irvin was about to lay me back to measure my belly and I told her about losing my mucous plug on Sunday. She kinda gave me a funny look and then told me she was going to go ahead and check me. She said we're almost half a cm dilated, my cervix is still thick, and your head is not low yet. We gained 2.5 lbs- so that means now we're only down 8 lbs from pre-pregnancy weight.
Daddy is going to be headed to Minneapolis, Minnesota for training for his new job- his original travel dates were October 12-23 but they rescheduled to November 9-20! What timing, huh?!!! I told Dr. Irvin about it yesterday and she said we could deliver you a week early!!! I'm so excited! So I guess for now we can say you will be here on November 2! Unless you have other plans, of course. Grammy and Grandad are going to come stay with us when Daddy is gone.
Ava is starting to talk more about her baby brother. She says she is going to share her toys with you. Except she asked me the other night if she was going to have to give you her Puffy. I told her she was going to get to keep it but that she could pick out a stuffed animal just for you. Puffy is Ava's special animal and you'll have a special animal when you get here.
I finally started to wash all your new clothes. Grammy came over yesterday and I was showing her all your new stuff. You are going to look so cute- I can't wait to see you in all your new outfits! I'm going to order your artwork today and then your room will almost be complete. Still waiting on Daddy to get in touch with the crown molding guy.
Today Texas plays Tech so I need to get ready for the tailgate. You keep growing good in Mommy's belly! I love you, Wynn!

New milestone...
I know it's been a while since I've written- for some reason I just can't get it together to sit down and write. I know I'll regret it in the years to come. I'll be 32 weeks tomorrow so I'll try to post at least weekly until you get here.
Well today marks a milestone with this pregnancy: I lost my mucous plug. We were about to go to church and I headed to the bathroom for one last potty and out it came. My heart stopped but I remember losing it with Ava and it wasn't a big deal. I think I lost it around 34 weeks with her.
I've been "nesting" a lot lately. I cleaned out most of my closet yesterday, I had Daddy paint the play room and I reorganized it, and now I'm ready to organize my night stand (maybe I'll do that tonight). Probably driving your dad crazy- actually he's a clean freak so he's probably loving it. Your room is almost done. Daddy emailed the crown molding guy yesterday so hopefully it'll get done in the next few weeks. I have a mess in your room with new clothes that need to be washed and leftover nursery stuff for Ava. I just haven't been in the mood to figure out where the nursery leftovers need to go and I'm waiting on the next time I do Ava's laundry to throw your stuff in there with it. I feel like your arrival is still so far away but the reality is that it is probably going to happen sooner than I think.
We're going to see Dr. Irvin every two weeks now. We go this Friday. When we went last time, I had an ultrasound and the placenta previa went away (corrected itself). Thank goodness. They were also able to do some measurements of you and you measured 4 lbs, your head measured 3 weeks ahead of schedule, and the rest of you measured 1-2 weeks ahead of schedule. You are so active now and I love it! Sometimes it feels like you are having a party in my belly. Lately I've been craving ice cream- especially Klondike bars and Dibs. I'm totally walking with the pregnancy wobble- my groin is so tender. It feels like I've been sitting on a horse for days at a time. I've got secondary insomnia (meaning I fall asleep fine but can't stay asleep), I have restless legs, and getting comfortable when sleeping seems next to impossible. I still have yet to gain any weight- lucky for me! My belly is growing and everything else on me is shrinking- at our last appt I was down 10 1/2 lbs from pre-pregnancy weight. I'm already getting focused on keeping the weight off after your arrival. Now that the previa is gone, I can get back into the gym, which I am excited about. I get tired and weak just walking a small distance so I'll get back to doing some light cardio workouts this week. Daddy thinks that'll help me sleep at night too.
I'm going to heat up some dinner now- leftover shrimp diablos, leftover stuffed mushrooms, and a grilled cheese. Hope you enjoy it!
I will write more at the end of the week!!!
Love you, baby boy!

A lot of catching up to do...
Well it's been almost 2 months since my last post. The guilt of not writing plus the idea of what all I have to catch up on has gotten to me. I have another sinus infection and can't breathe and it's 3:45 in the morning so I figured this would be a good time to write to you.
At 14 weeks, I had a little incident of spotting. Not a lot but enough to send a mother into complete panic mode. Ava was about to go to bed and so Daddy called Grammy and Grandad to have them meet us at the emergency room. They found your heartbeat quickly and so I was relieved. This all happened on a Friday night. Well on Monday morning Dr. Irvin thought it would be best for me to come in for an ultrasound to make sure everything looked normal. All your measurements looked great and healthy and they weren't able to tell why I had spotted. They said sometimes it just happens and that I shouldn't be alarmed. Well prior to my appointment, I had read that on some ultrasounds at 15 weeks, which I now was, sometimes you could tell what the sex of the baby is. So during our ultrasound, I asked the sonographer to take a little peek. She said she couldn't be positive due to the earliness of the ultrasound but her guess was that you are a boy. I knew it!!! Daddy was speechless. So we got to take home a picture of you with the words "boy??" printed on it. She said at 20 weeks, she'd be able to tell for sure.
Well you'll find out with your Mommy that waiting is not an option if I have a choice. Our wonderful neighbor across the street told me she could tell me at 16 weeks. So Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, Daddy was playing at his usual golf tournament in Brady, so Grammy and Grandad came into town to go meet Sonia for an ultrasound with me. You were a little stubborn and kept hiding your goods but she got a tiny glimpse of what could be a penis but she didn't want to say for sure. She told me to come back in 2 weeks. So 2 weeks later, 18 weeks, Daddy, Ava and Mommy go to see Sonia again. This time you weren't so stubborn. You were even a little proud to show your goods. Sonia was able to confirm that you are a boy!!!!!!
So now we've had 3 ultrasounds saying you are likely a boy. Daddy is convinced; Mommy is not. It just seemed to good to be true for me. I knew at 20 weeks, we would get another ultrasound. So we continued to put off discussing names or looking at bedding or anything boy or girl specific until our next ultrasound.
20 weeks gets here and I'm very excited! Quickly, the sonographer is able to confirm...OUR BABY IS A HEALTHY BOY!!!!!! We got a great picture of your profile, and of you about to put your hand in your mouth, and of course a great shot of your penis. Mommy will keep that to show you one day. You have no idea how happy Mommy is to have a wonderful daughter and now a wonderful son!
The name is still under negotiation. For the longest time before we knew if you were a boy, Daddy and I both liked the name Palmer- for a middle name. Top 6 first names for you have been Finn, Jude, Lane, Max, Von, and Wynn. Well laying in bed last week, Daddy told me he was really favoring the name Wynn. He told me ever since he heard me mention the name, he considered that that would be our son's name. Great! I love that name! Except I was having HUGE issues with Wynn Palmer Wallace. On tests at school, on medical forms, I didn't like the idea of you having to write Wynn P. Wallace- it sounds like whimpy Wallace. That's not gonna fly for my baby boy! So now the first name is decided and the middle name is up for negotiation. It's not as easy as people think- trying to name a child. We found the perfect name for your sister and we will find the perfect name for you! We came up with a list of potential middle names this past week and the names are Brooks, Everett, Nolan, Garner, Colton, Jackson, and Major. My top 3 are Brooks, Everett, and Garner. I think Daddy's tops are Brooks and Everett. I love them both. You are going to have the best boy name ever!
Other than this sinus infection I've been battling, I'm feeling good. I still haven't gained any weight and I finally have my pregnancy belly. I absolutely LOVE it! We are 21 weeks currently and this week, I for sure felt you move. Thursday night, Daddy and I lay in bed and we watched you kick. It isn't anything major yet but enough to see my belly move which is super exciting for us! To me there is nothing more rewarding than feeling your baby move inside your belly. This isn't something you'll get to experience but it is something that you'll get to witness from the outside. Daddy thinks it is fascinating so he'll have to talk to you about it from his perspective.
Mommy and Grammy have started to look at bedding for your room. Grammy made Ava's bedding and is going to do the same for you. She is so talented and is excited to be able to do this for you. Last weekend, she and I went shopping and picked out some material we like for your room and bought you a few other things. I bought you your first blanket and Grammy bought you clothes and socks. I already started doing some of your laundry and putting things in your drawers. One of my good friends, Christina, is pregnant right now with a girl due 6 weeks before you and she already has a son. So she and I switched Ava's and Markus's clothes for you and Landis. It's amazing how many clothes you have already! I love it!
Mommy and Daddy love you so much and we can't wait to meet you in November! So you keep growing good in Mommy's belly.

The Snowball Effect
It's been 2 weeks since my last post. Things have been going okay. I got a really bad sinus infection about a week and a half ago. Dr. Mills put me on an antibiotic and I just finished that on Sunday. I feel a little better but not great. I'm coughing up a storm and that is really keeping me up at night. I'm caught in such a bad snowball effect right now and I can't wait to get out: I already have pregnancy nausea and insomnia and this sinus infection is really adding to the problem. I can't sleep because I'm coughing and the second I do finally fall asleep, I start coughing again. I gag on all the mucous I'm coughing up and sometimes it makes me vomit! As if pregnancy nausea wasn't horrible on its own and now I've added this to my plate! Anyway, I'm hoping I'm on the downslope of this illness. I'm really ready to feel like myself again.
I have noticed that I'm starting to lose my waist. I put a skirt on last week and it was uncomfortable. My shorts and things that are cut lower in the waist are still fine, thank goodness. I did start maternity clothes laundry this weekend so they'll be ready for me to dip into. I don't think I'm ready for them yet but I want to be prepared. With your sister, I didn't start wearing maternity clothes until I was 6 months pregnant. I have a feeling it'll be sooner with you.
Hopefully we'll get to find out what sex you are in a little less than 2 weeks. Daddy says we're not allowed to talk about it anymore until we actually find out. It's driving us both crazy! I wanted to open a baby name book yesterday but had to fight the urge. I'll let that be a reward when we finally find out. My gut still says boy but I'll be happy with whatever.
Keep growing good in Mommy's belly, little baby! Mommy loves you!

sigh of relief
Hi, baby! I'm going to finally make this blog public today and I'm very excited.
We went to the doctor today for some tests/screening and so far, everything looks normal. They took some blood and some measurements of you and will have the results back to us within a week. We finally got some pictures of you that we got to bring home! It's a wonderful picture of your profile and another showing how long you are. You're right on target with where you need to be and we couldn't be happier. You were very calm, complete opposite of your sister at her 12 week sonogram. You were swallowing a lot and waved to us a couple of times and your heart rate was at 157. Daddy told me afterward that he thought we needed to come up with some boy names to discuss...we'll see. Our sweet neighbor across the street is a labor/delivery nurse and said she would tell us what sex you are at 16 weeks! Dr. Irvin told us today that usually moms feel their second baby move a couple of weeks before they do with their first baby. I hope that's the case with me. I can't wait! I'm not showing, although I didn't show with Ava until 6 months, and I haven't gained any weight yet (actually I think I may be down some pounds at this point). I actually really like my maternity clothes and I like having a baby showing in the belly so get to growing!
Well you keep growing good in Mommy's belly! I love you, baby!

continuation...
...I took a week break from that last post so here's the continuation.
Wade met me at Dr. Irvin's office and the second I got there, I started to cry and I couldn't stop! I ended up seeing Kimberly, Dr. Irvin's nurse practitioner. She decided to do a quick ultrasound just to make sure everything was okay. She's new to the office so she hadn't quite mastered the ultrasound machine. But she was able to show us the heart beat and that was good enough for us! The next day, the nausea returned but that's all that came back. Now it's been 2 weeks since that incident and I'm feeling good for the most part. I'm still tired and I do get bouts of nausea in the evenings but I don't complain.
The weather is starting to turn hot (finally) and I'm ready for a tan! We have a busy weekend planned- 3 birthday parties on Saturday, although we're only going to be able to attend 2 but I'll drop the gift off at the 3rd party. I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend. I've had such a busy week at work- but I like it because it makes the days go by fast. I was actually afraid that this week would drag because we have an ultrasound scheduled on Monday to see you and I'm anxious for it to get here. We're doing what is called a "first screen" sonogram to make sure you are growing okay. Hopefully we'll get a picture of you to take home!!!
My office started a weight loss competition 2 weeks ago and I'm currently involved in that competition. We're split up into teams and every week, we weigh in. So far, I've actually lost like 3 pounds. Not on purpose, believe me, but I think the evening nausea has contributed to the loss. Anyway, I'll tell my office next week about you after we make sure everything is okay with your sonogram. I think I'll tell them I've been disqualified from the competition because I have a bun in the oven and that it isn't recommended that pregnant people purposely try to lose weight. I think they'll be excited. When we started this competition, we had more people on one team (conveniently I'm the extra person on one team) because I knew I would have to drop out. I'll still weigh in and try to eat as healthy as possible. But right now, I'm craving sour candy (Sour Patch Kids, Sour Straws) and cheeseburgers. I'm really only acting on the sour candy because the guilt would kill me for the cheeseburgers.
Anyway, we're trucking along and I'm very happy. I can't wait to see you on Monday so you keep growing good in Mommy's belly!

a little scare
So much has happened since my last post a week ago. So on Tuesday, April 7th, I was feeling great- no nausea, the tenderness in my breasts went away, and my skin finally started to clear up. Paige and I went to the Papa Roach, Avenged Sevenfold, and Buckcherry concert! I was totally excited! The facility was supposed to be "smoke-free" but once the lights dimmed, everybody and their dog lit up! It was awful!!! I drank a lot of water to try to flush the toxins from my system. When I got home at midnight, I had to shower because the stink was SO bad! I hate that smell! The concert was great though- my favorite was Papa Roach. Wednesday, I felt great again! Thursday, another great day but since none of my pregnancy symptoms had returned yet, I started to panic. REALLY PANIC! I called Dr. Irvin's office and scheduled an appointment for when I got off work...
